Frequently Asked Questions

We are both a clothing line and a team of fishing guides. Because of this, we are asked a lot of questions.  Take a look through these previously asked questions and see if there is an answer to yours. If you still have questions please feel free to contact us.

Q A How do I care for my sunshirt?

This is very important. In order to preserve the UPF protective properties of your sunshirt you must not put these items in the dryer. We recommend machine wash cold, inside out with mild detergent. Hang dry.

Q A What is UPF and does it matter?

UPF stands for ultraviolet protection factor. This is a numerical rating listing the protective properties of fabric. This indicates how much UVA and UVB rays penetrate the fabric to reach the skin. A UPF rating of 30 indicates 1/30 of ultraviolet light passes through the garmet. The highest UPF rating a garmet can be assigned is UPF 50+. This does not mean all UPF 50+ are equal. Our Coolibar collection takes this to another level. These fabrics have a custom weaving pattern to prevent light prenetration. The fabrics themselves have been treated with titanium and zinc molecules to reflect UV light and block heat from reaching your skin. Once wet the fast wicking and evaporating action rapidly cools bringing relief on hot or humid days. It is important to note, that once saturated the UPF properties of fabrics are diminished until dry.

Q A Can sunshirts cool me off if I get them wet?

Yes, a wet sunshirt will cool you greatly on a hot day. The catch is the sun protective properties (UPF) are diminished while the fabric is wet.

Q A What is your return policy?

Unworn items in their original condition may be returned by mail accompanied by the original packing slip within 30 day of purchase. No returns or exchanges are accepted after 30 days of purchase. Customer must pay return shipping fees. Any refunds will be issued to the original card of purchase.

We recommend your group brings a small cooler with food and beverages. Boats are equipped with a small cooler. Glass containers are prohibited by law and are not allowed on any trips. Water and electrolyte beverages are included.

Q A Do I need to have my own fishing gear?

No. Our guides will have gear for your trip. If you are familiar and confident with your own rods we encourage you to bring them.

Q A What if it rains or storms?

Safety is our primary concern. If there is a significant chance of dangerous winds, lightning, excessive rain or unsafe conditions our guides may choose to cancel the trip. In the event of a weather related cancellation you will be given priority rebooking or refund per our terms and conditions. Light or moderate rain is not reason for trip cancellation.

Kids ages 10-12 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. All participants or guardians will need to sign applicable forms. Sorry, no children under 10 years of age.
